Acupuncture can effectively alleviate Lower Back Pain

Lower Back pain is one of the top complaints as people age. There are various reasons that can cause lower back pain, but the good news is in Traditional Chinese Medicine, lower back pain is fairly straightforward to treat.

Different Types of Lower Back Pain

Ever notice your lower back pain feels like its concentrated in a specific area? Or maybe It is equally painful on both sides? How about right side of the lower back only? Left side only? Or  the pain travels down a bit to the buttocks or up the spine?

The lower back is affiliated with one channel (the bladder) and organ (the kidneys). The reasoning for lower back pain can be 1) there is a traffic jam of qi in the channel causing a damming effect, which can be felt as tension or pain. 2) A weakness of Qi in the area.

Traffic Jam in your Qi

In cases of lower back pain, it is correlated with the Urinary Bladder channel. The channel encompasses most of the back.  When people get any tension in the back, the Urinary Bladder channel is one of the first things to consider.

Weakness of Kidney Qi

Kidneys are in charge of the bones, knees and the lower back. If there is any weakness of Kidney Qi, it is common that the lower back areas can be individually or simultaneously affected.

The cause of pain, tension or imbalance is highly unique to the individual. In Traditional Chinese Medicine through a professional, one can get a formal TCM diagnosis via questions, pulse & tongue to get a customized treatment.
