Wuji Xuan Life Wellness

There's a lot of misunderstandings when it comes to Community Acupuncture and the practice of acupuncture, so today we're going to try and clarify what is True and what isn't.

Myth 1 - Community Acupuncture cost less therefore its a lower grade treatment

At Wuji Xuan Life Wellness' community acupuncture clinic, our clients receive the same standard of professional treatments as a standard private acupuncture session, the ONLY difference is the client usually receives additional modalities (such as cupping, gua sha and tuina) to augment the acupuncture treatment. Another words, in a community acupuncture session, you would receive a customized treatment while the private acupuncture treatment, you'll get a fully personalized treatment with acupuncture with additional complimentary methods and modalities to get the most out of a single session.

The reason why community acupuncture costs less is due to economies of scale. Being able to treat multiple patients allows us to lower the overall cost per person without diminishing the effectiveness of each individual's personalized session.

Please NOTE** We cannot speak for other clinics or guarantee the quality of other clinics or practitioners.

Myth 2 - in acupuncture you have to use the needle near the area of concern

There are multiple schools/systems in acupuncture and the acupuncturist is often related to their own studies and apprenticeships beyond the minimum requirements of regulatory examination.

While we agree that localized treatments can provide relief, sometimes, we find treatments needling the arms and legs can deliver better results because it can work on multiple issues fully utilizing the meridian channels, elements, and other factors that can relate to a particular issue.

Myth 3 - all acupuncture treatments are the same

Acupuncturists, like any profession, have different levels of expertise. Talk to your acupuncturist to get a sense of what they really understand. If they can't explain beyond direct correlation of symptom to point then you may need to think twice. The difference between an average acupuncturist and a great acupuncturist lie in their ability to understand Traditional Chinese Medicine theories and ability to utilize them towards customized a more holistic treatment for the patients.
